Role Summary

Responsible for the development and administration of efficient and professional operation of occupational health services. This position manages the initial and follow-up care of ill or injured Employees requiring treatment and modifications to work as well as providing any other Health Care services and promoting Employee health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Know and understand LMV Automotive Systems' Quality and Environmental policies.
  2. Perform other duties as required.
  3. Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.
  4. Development and ongoing implementation of LMV's wellness program.
  5. Administer and oversee the initial and continuing care for work-related illnesses/injuries and coordinate offsite care as needed.
  6. Assess and treat personal and work-related .injuries and illnesses per protocol, and refer patients to a higher level of care when needed.
  7. Respond to workplace and employee emergencies.
  8. Serves as advisor to the leadership team on issues related to occupational health and provides action plans for reducing the number of incidents and the associated costs.
  9. Makes appropriate referrals to EFAP or other agencies when necessary and provides follow-up support.
  10. Oversee the administration of worker's compensation and the maintenance of accurate documentation and records as required by regulatory and internal procedural standards.
  11. Maintain LMV's OSHA Logs.
  12. Oversee and administer FMLA.
  13. Handle Employee medical issues with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  14. Track first responder certifications and facilitate recertification as necessary to meet regulatory and LMV internal standards.
  15. Ensure HR compliance with Magna HS&E requirements, including the Hearing Conservation Program.
  16. Administer Random Drug Testing Program.
  17. Work closely with LMV's Environmental, Health and Safety, and Human Resources Teams.
  18. Oversee the annual flu vaccine clinic.
  19. Follows and supports Magna's operating principles, including:

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

  1. Registered Nurse with a current license in the state of MO is required.
  2. Two or more years of occupational health experience (experience in case management) preferred.
  3. Current CPR Certification.
  4. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, preferred.
  2. A minimum of 1-year experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  3. Ability to operate standard office equipment preferred.
  4. Ability to be Certified as LMV's 1st aid and CPR Trainer.

Additional Information

Physical Demands:
 

  1. Office and General factory environment
  2. Able to be flexible in hours of work on short notice in order to meet internal/external customer requirements (scheduled and non-scheduled overtime shifts, etc.)
  3. Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time and occasional bending and stooping.

  1. General office environment.
