Role Summary

This position is required to work with suppliers and all departments on the development of new products and tools in order to meet customer and QS9000/IATF 16949 requirements.  This includes all quality related aspects of PPAP, prototype and ongoing product development.

Key Responsibilities

•    Must be capable of handling projects from inception to completion; including developing training plans and developing training programs
•    Experience in Assembly tooling, automation, welding and robots
•    Establish and follow-up full project implementation, including timing, concept, feasibility design, specifications, construction and commissioning, as required
•    Provides support in testing, repairing, calibrating electric or electronic components
•    Maintains and upgrades PLC software; assist in training Team Members on electronic equipment, as required.
•    Suggest and implement improvements to internal processes, information and procedures.
•    Analyze, record and charts all documentation required for maintenance records and projects
•    Prepare drawings, material specifications to requisition, as required by vendors or other departments.
•    Demonstrates a sense of urgency in achieving results
•    Develop controls, drawings and design concepts
•    Deals with various vendors; both supplier and equipment suppliers
•    Responsible for ensuring an adequate inventory of replacement materials / replacement parts is available; Completing requisitions and obtaining appropriate signatures; follow-up to ensure delivery 
•    Participate in ongoing Cross-Training, Multi-Skilling activities within the organization
•    Train and monitor Team Members selected to operate the equipment and systems
•    Assist in training of Technical Team Members, as required
•    Assist in establishing preventative maintenance programs
•    Know and understand process documentation and customer specific requirements, as they relate to this job function
•    Perform other duties as required
•    Required to adhere to all Health and Safety programs in accordance with the O.H.S.A.  
•    Required to wear all personal protective equipment for the designated working area and/or job assignment.
•    Follow and ensure the company’s procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed throughout the plant.
•    Ensure that you work and operate equipment according to the company’s safety rules and regulations.
•    Ensure that your department is clean, tidy, organized and a safe workplace at all times.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

•    Candidate must have a degree / diploma in electrical controls with a minimum of 4 to 6 years’ experience troubleshooting and programming PLC’s, preferably in an automotive or related industrial environment
•    Proof of Z462 Arc Flash Certification training required
•    Capable of reading and editing electrical, mechanical and layout drawings 
•    Experience working with all Rockwell software, including a solid understanding of hardware and software installation, configuration and tuning
•    Must have a strong technical background in PLC networking, Allen Bradley and Siemens networking, including Ethernet TCP/IP networks
•    Proven background in successful project management
•    Working knowledge of all safety standards 
•    PLC programming and troubleshooting experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens
•    Robotic experience, programming and troubleshooting all Fanuc and Kuka robots
•    Must demonstrate maturity of judgment and possess positive human relations and leadership skills
•    Required to work overtime or varying shifts to meet customer needs as required
•    Excellent organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
•    Ability to work independently and without supervision
•    Demonstrates a sense of urgency in achieving results
•    Physically able to perform the essential duties of the position.
•    Demonstrates the ability to work effectively within team environment
•    Follow and comply with all Operational Procedures / Policies as stated in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environmental programs (i.e. QS9000, IATF 16949)
•    Perform other duties as required.
