Role Summary

The Design Coordinator role is to update, maintain and monitor the communication of data with OEM’s, Cosma Engineering and Suppliers. 

Key Responsibilities

•    Manages inbound and outbound data transfer for assigned program teams
•    Develops new GD&T for new quotes and existing programs
•    Updates and distributes GD&T drawings
•    File maintenance of all math data
•    Archives data as required
•    Creates part flat blanks using software
•    Modify data for process improvement
•    New business support for overlays, packaging and rack density studies
•    Responsible for analysis, creation and verification of cloud scan data for reverse engineering product
•    Liaise with tooling and process engineers to aid in troubleshooting part fit up and line development issues
•    Produce file translations (IGES, STEP, DXF), if required
•    Create various product related reports for team communications
•    Knows and understands process documentation and customer specific requirements as they relate to this job function
•    Takes technical direction from senior staff
•    Follows and complies with all Operational Procedures and Policies  as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs (i.e. IATF 16949, ISO 14001)
•    Understands, promotes, and lives by Magna’s philosophies and Employee Charter
•    Adhere to Modatek’s core values; integrity, respect, trust, honesty, fairness and loyalty
•    Performs other duties as required

Key Qualifications/Requirements

•    A College diploma in Engineering
•    Demonstrates a solid understanding of basic Engineering practices and functions
•    Ability to demonstrate knowledge and experience with parametric based CAD software 
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Outlook)
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Strong analytical skills
•    Strong organizational, interpersonal and problem solving skills
•    Ability to uphold confidentiality
•    Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment
•    Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs

Located in Milton, Ontario, Modatek Systems is a division of Magna International. At Modatek, our dedicated team produce chassis systems utilizing innovative hydroforming, automated welding, and electrostatic coating processes within a large, safety-focused facility.
