Role Summary
The Human Resources Generalist supports the company through various HR systems to meet company goals and legislative requirements.
**The successful candidate for this role will work at our new Magna EV battery enclosures facility located in Brampton, ON**
Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for delivery of Human Resources activities including the following:
Recruitment and hiring
Onboarding
Providing training/coaching/administer training records
Facilitating performance appraisal system
Support progressive discipline process
Immigration
Assists with coordination of temporary agency recruiting and tracking
Maintains team member personnel files
Address team member concerns with respect to job security, fair treatment, safe and healthy workplace, fair wages and benefits, equity participation and communication of information (Employee’s Charter)
• Supports the development, interpretation and continual updating of Company policies and procedures, including the Employee Handbook
• Acts as a resource/consultant to leadership with regard to policies, legislation, principles of the Employee Charter, etc.
• Prepares and provides assigned Key Performance Indicators
• Foster positive employee relations
• Participation in workplace committees: Fairness, JH&S, Ergonomics, Social, etc
• Assist or coordinate annual wage and benefit survey, employee opinion survey, HR audit
• Manage all employee communication centers, ensuring ongoing updates and visual clarity
• Responsible for organizing all company social activities
• Work safely and within the guidelines of the company employee Handbook,
• Commitment to continuous improvement and work place safety,
• TS16949 awareness and adherence,
• ISO14001 awareness and adherence,
• Lean Manufacturing and 5S concepts awareness and adherence,
• Other duties as may be required.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
• University Degree and/or College certificate specializing in Human Resources Management
• Certified Human Resource Professional designation or working towards
• 2+ years progressive human resources experience
• Knowledge of Human Resources practices and principles, and familiar with relevant employment legislation (i.e. ESA, Human Rights, Occupational Health & Safety Act)
• Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook & HRIS Software (i.e. PeopleSoft)
• Sense of urgency and customer service oriented
• Comfortable with analyzing data and identifying trends
• Excellent communication/presentation skills
• Flexible in hours of work in order to meet internal/external customer requirements
• Able to work in a strictly confidential and professional manner
• Demonstrated attention to detail
• Able to work in a team or independently
