Die Setter

Role Summary

The Die Setter will work in conjunction with each other to complete die set ups in an efficient and safe manner.

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform complete die sets per set up book and complete related paperwork accurately
2. Perform die or press corrections when applicable or contact proper support personnel
3. Assist in training operators on basic machine operations and quality inspections
4. Responsible for quality of parts they produce and reporting any nonconforming parts to Quality and supervisor immediately
5. Recommend proposals for improving products, processes, systems, productivity and work environment
6. Maintain a good working relationship with his/her fellow employees, and keeps his/her supervisor advised of conditions within the work area
7. Complete schedule work and tasks within time allotted or if unable to, supervisor must be notified
8. Review supervisors log book for operations problems
9. Record data as appropriate
10. Follow and support Magna Body & Chassis Iowa’s and Magna’s operating principles
11. Support efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey

Key Qualifications/Requirements

                          Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or GED

                     Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Forklift and crane certified or ability to become certified

Additional Information

    This position is working 3rd Shift, 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. Sunday night through Friday morning
