Role Summary

The Defect Manager is responsible for the successful execution of the defect management process in an assigned program. He/she is in continues contact with different program members and process stakeholders outside of a program, to ensure correct process execution. Further, the Defect Manager is the owner of the defect management process and works on improvements and program specific tailoring of the process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop defect management process and workflows
  • Tailor defect management workflows and process to program specific needs
  • Plan and track defect management activities within a program
  • Monitor and ensure programs follow defect process and workflow
  • Hold meetings with defect owners and drive escalations if needed
  • Develop and track KPIs for process performance
  • Create program specific reports based on defect KPIs
  • Prepare status reports for the management on defects
  • Communicate with customers and suppliers on current defect status
  • Facilitate trainings on the defect management process for program members

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business
  • Relevant work experience in the automotive industry or similar, preferred in R&D projects
  • Structured work approach
  • Ability to manage and coordinate cross functional communication
  • Skilled in communicating process needs to stakeholders
  • Analytical skills to work on process and workflow improvements
  • Data affinity for handling documentations and reports
  • Advanced skills in excel or other data management tools are helpful
