Division Description

Located in Milton, Ontario, Modatek Systems is a divsion of Magna International. At Modatek, our dedicated team produce chassis systems utilizing innovative hydroforming, automated welding, and electrostatic coating processes within a large, safety-focused facility.

Role Summary

The Cycle Counter conducts scheduled and unscheduled cycle counts and works closely with the Material Department Team Members to analyze inventory discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with developing cycle count plans.
• Participate in the plant wide year end physical inventory.
• Perform cycle counts accurately and efficiently.
• Execute cycle count of materials as directed or as scheduled.
• Perform recounts in adherance to the Cycle Counting Guidelines.
• Participate in crossfunctional investigations and meetings to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Investigate and analyze “below min/above max” inventories.
• Audit signage/labeling accuracy to PFEP and report discrepancies.
• Audit stock locations for FIFO adherance in accordance with Mafact requirements.
• Supports the modifications to plant floor and marketplace footprints/master layout (integration with Materials Team).
• Min/Max analysis and right sizing to operational min quantities on hand and CMS levels and PFEP.
• Ensure inventory accuracy on all required locations in the ERP system.
• Perform a thourough investigation in the event there are any inventory discrepancies.
• Investigate material line shortage (“Red or Yellow Trucks”).
• Assist with cycle count adjustments in the CMS system as directed.
• Assist in completing necessary paperwork as directed.
• Communicate inventory errors to the Materials Team.
• Audit production and scrap reports for accuracy and validating the entries into the ERP system.
• Operate forklift and reachtruck equipment as needed to validate inventory.
• Conduct all activities in a safe manner.
• Provide data to Materials team to promote lean inventory levels and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Attends departmental and plant-wide communication meetings and training as scheduled
• Maintain a consistent work pace and work overtime as required.
• Conducts themselves in a professional manner and keeps work area clean and organized.
• Establishes and maintains effective communications with all departments.
• Follow and comply with all Operational Procedures / Policies as stated in the Team Member Handbook, Quality and Environmental programs (i.e. TS16949, ISO14001)

• Perform other duties as required


Key Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated experience in a similar role (inventory control, cycle counting)
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 plus years’ experience in automotive and/or manufacturing environment.
• General knowledge in inventory control, material planning and ERP system.
• Computer literate with Intermediate skill level in Excel and Microsoft office.
• Ability to understand, anticipate and follow direction while exercising maturity of judgement.
• Working knowledge of Engineering Change processes.
• Strong analytical skills, excellent at managing data at a detail level.
• Strong ability to multi-task and work independently.
• Ability to work well in a fast paced environment and with a variable workload.
• Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment in order to meet customer requirements.
• Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to interact effectively with other team members.
