Division Description

Located in Milton, Ontario, Modatek Systems is a divsion of Magna International. At Modatek, our dedicated team produce chassis systems utilizing innovative hydroforming, automated welding, and electrostatic coating processes within a large, safety-focused facility.

Role Summary

The Helpdesk role is to ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish business tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests.

Key Responsibilities

• Creates, maintains and administers user accounts and Exchange mailboxes
• Maintains file and folder security
• Diagnoses and trouble-shoots desktop software, hardware, or network connectivity problems at an entry level.
• Takes technical direction from senior staff
• Assist in training new team IT team members (co-op students)
• Handles the evaluation, procurement, installation and provides ongoing support of PCs, printers and peripherals
• Evaluates and installs software, and trouble-shoots hardware problems
• Writes technical documentation and manuals, and assists with end user training
• Maintains hardware inventory control, asset tagging and software licensing.
• Assists new computer users with Windows basic training on programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, network file storage, SAP client installation, etc.
• Perform MAC (Move/Adds/Changes) on telephone system
• Enforces Sarbanes Oxley IT Standards\Best Practices
• Maintain helpdesk metrics (KPI’s)
• Required to be on call at all times
• Performs other duties as required
 

Key Qualifications/Requirements

• University or College Degree/Diploma in Information Systems
• Technical/user knowledge of Windows 10/8/7, MS Office 2013, Internet Explorer, Network Printing, File Access, and Client/Server applications
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Good organizational, interpersonal and problem solving skills
• Functional understanding of Microsoft Exchange Server
• Solid Knowledge and understanding of Active Directory
• Must be comfortable working from heights (AWP)
• Ability to uphold confidentiality
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs
