Manufacturing Execution Systems Analyst

The Manufacturing Execution Systems Analyst’s role is to plan, design and support Modatek’s MES systems (eg Ignition) in support of core functionality and reporting within the organization.  Collects data from the shop floor PLC’s, integrates data with Modatek’s information systems, while maintaining a high level of accuracy.  Establish and maintain effective communications with Production, Information Systems, Quality and Engineering and provide direction, support and guidance to the Manufacturing Systems Analysts.

• Plan, coordinate, develop and maintain all MES System based projects
• Develop data collections routines, tags and counters in PLCs
• Help support middleware applications (IGear, BizWare) in conjunction with the Manufacturing System Analyst
• Provide systems expertise in data collection techniques that meet or exceed client data traceability and prodcution performance reporting
• Evaluate business problems and processes, evaluate requirements, scope, functionality, priorities - provides recommended solution alternatives that align with business objectives
• Development of project requirements, including details specs, work estimates, timelines, deliverables, and milestones
• Work with other departments to create and collect data in support of KPIs and other key measurements from production using existing data collection systems

• A degree/diploma in an automation and robotics field or 3 years of equivalent work history
• Experience with Ignition development and implementation an asset
• Experience with HMI development and implementation and asset
• Experience with Relational Databases (MSSQL) an asset
• Ability to work overtime/on call to meet customer needs
