Role Summary
To support the design, build, and development of the tooling dies required to stamp the components for full front and rear cradles, frames, rear axles, suspension arms/linkages and any associated stamped/formed components for our customers. After launch, assists in troubleshooting the stamping tools at our suppliers for the Purchasing Department
Key Responsibilities
• Supports new tooling programs to contain cost, timing and quality requirements from prototype phases and die construction through tool development, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and program launch
• Knows and understands process documentation, local and corporate specifications/standards, and customer specific requirements as they relate to this job function
• Tracks lessons learned and compiles for transfer and incorporation into new programs
• Maintains and organizes all tooling documentation and data
• Provides product design guidance to our customers based on part manufacturability
• Supports cross-functional review
• Provides Technical Support during prototype build events with the customer
• Analyses all parts for Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE) savings
• Tooling estimates
• Ability to review and enhance simulation results
• Ability to review steel costing strategies spot versus resale programs
• Control and minimize cost overruns
• Ensure project budget for dies/check fixtures are met.
• Engineering changes
• Quality improvements

• Datum Schemes
Key Qualifications/Requirements
• Certificate of Qualification as a Tool & Die Maker.
• Working hands-on knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Excellent organizational and communication skills (English)
• Min. Three years’ experience in stamping and forming
• Part forming, blank nesting, part formability, part processing skill set
• Able to work in various locations inside and outside the plant
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to create productive relationships with various levels of staff
• Ability to uphold confidentiality
• Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to be flexible in hours of work to meet internal/external customer requirements
• Coordination of client, customer, and supplier
• Ability to travel globally
