Key Responsibilities

•    Follow-up project implementation, including timing, concept, feasibility, design, specifications, construction as required
•    Provide support in troubleshooting, repairing and making system improvements (optimization),  to ensure quality and efficiencies within the department
•    Identify root cause of equipment failures and follow-up on feasibility of modifications
•    Perform preventative maintenance to defined schedules
•    Analyze, record, chart and maintain all documentation for maintenance records, projects and departments, including generating work orders and updates to SAP
•    Participate in cross-functional training (multi-skilling) activities related to other trades, within the organization
•    Demonstrate a sense of urgency in achieving results
•    Assist and support in all other technical areas, where required
•    Ensure all operator safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications and installations
•    Maintain a clean and environmentally safe workshop and production lines

Key Qualifications/Requirements

•    Ontario Certificate of Qualification in Tool and Die
•    Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
•    Basic knowledge of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)
•    Skill in all machine shop equipment
•    Ability to design, build, prove out projects for tooling, fixtures and clamping
•    Knowledge of welding (GMAW, STAW, SMAW)  is an asset
•    Know and understand process documentation and customer specific requirements, as they relate to the job function
•    Comprehensive knowledge of English, both oral and written
•    Attention to detail, organizational and interpersonal skills
•    Ability to work in a team environment
•    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
•    Working knowledge of safety standards of equipment
•    Ability to work the dedicated midnight shift
•    Ability to work overtime to meet customer requirements
•    Successful candidates must be able to work in a fast paced and collaborative environment with a team of various technical trades to troubleshoot and maintain lines
