Role Summary

Serves as a key resource in developing and supporting marketing and sales strategies for current and future business opportunities for the Outside Mirrors product line.  Assists in the development of strategic planning to expand Outside Mirror product development and commercial activities.  Develops strategic plans and moderate to long-term goals in support of business objectives. Responsible for the development, planning, and execution of marketing projects relating to the development of new and existing technologies in support of defined business objectives. Performs project work and other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Researches, identifies and evaluates potential new products. Coordinates the initial stages of the product planning and development among marketing, sales, finance, engineering and manufacturing to ensure the successful introduction of products into the market place. Deliverables include budget attainment, product business plan, as well as, internal standards for Company and Customer requirements.
  • Provides marketing and technical sales expertise for Outside Mirrors; plans, organizes, directs, implements and maintains product strategies and objectives.  Maintains the market share analysis for the commodity including the five-year rolling forecast.  Works with cross-functional organization to assess and identify market trends and their impact on the defined strategy.
  • Assists OEM Account Managers in developing customer specific sales plans; including OEM specific sales kits and target pursuit plans.  Manages customer RFQs through company systems (Financial, Program Management, Quality and Engineering), and oversees customer quotes response.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics including new business award fulfillment, win loss ratios, CM, EBIT among other established by Regional management leadership. Benchmarks to competition and develops strategic plans to meet future needs. 
  • Interfaces with internal contacts (i.e. Product Engineering, Purchasing, and Sales.) across all divisions in support of new business development projects. Gathers information and facilitates team meetings.  Monitors, reviews and critiques progress of projects, etc. 
  • Develops and directs marketing programs for the product line. Coordinates and oversees the execution of marketing strategies including advertising, packaging, and future product development.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree - engineering or related field preferred, plus minimum eight years of experience in automotive industry. Working knowledge in Outside Mirrors preferred.
  • Possess high degree of knowledge in areas of product marketing, sales, engineering and planning along with a strong financial acumen
  • Able to work with internal and external contacts at all levels.  Proven ability to represent the company in a professional manner and adept at selling concepts and strategies to customers and management.
  • Demonstrated program and project management skills, and proven organizational and time management skills. 
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, interpersonal and problem-solving skills for successful performance of job duties.
  • Must be self-motivated, results driven and possess strong follow through skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle matters with confidentiality and integrity.
