About the Role
The Robot Technician is responsible for a variety of tasks which ensure the efficiency and reliability of all Company tooling or production equipment and processes. This position is accountable for quality and housekeeping goals by following through on open issues and ensuring that corrective action plans are in place. They will be responsible for troubleshooting problems with robots and welding process, and will fix and correct any issues.
**The successful candidate for this role will work at our new Magna Chassis and Body Mississauga (MBCM) facility located in Mississauga, ON**

Your Responsibilities
- Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.
- Establishes and follows-up full project implementation including timing, concept, feasibility, design, specifications, construction and commissioning.
- Maintains and upgrades Robot/Laser/Welding software: assist in training of staff on associated equipment.
- Analyses, records and charts documentation required for maintenance records and projects.
- Services, maintains, repairs, installs and tests new or existing equipment and verifies conformance to specifications.(Robot/Welding/Lasers)
- Complete repairs, modifications and installations as required.
- Troubleshooting of process problems and completes quality improvements as required to maintain part standards of quality.
- Deals extensively with production team and other support groups as well as vendors (both parts suppliers and equipment suppliers).
- Department support for testing, repairing and calibrating electric or electronic components.
- Plant support in troubleshooting / repairs and systems improvements (optimization).
- Perform tasks in conjunction with, helpers and assigned contractors.
- Prepares drawings, material specifications to requisition as required by vendors or other departments.
- Assist in developing and maintaining preventative/predictive maintenance procedures.
- Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Perform other duties as designated.
Who we are looking for
- Minimum 2-year college diploma (technician) but a 3-year technologist is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years' experience with Fanuc or other robots required
- Minimum of 3 years' experience with spot and MIG welding required
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and organization skills
- Automotive manufacturing environment with experience in hydraulics and pneumatics
- Able to operate a variety of machine tools MIG/TIG welders, Lathe, Milling machine and hand tools
