Role Summary

Responsible for the full range of human resources and health and safety services. The implementation and application of the associated programs and procedures. To interact daily with the management, staff (salaried and hourly) and union representatives in order to address actual or potential issues utilizing a pro-active philosophy to ensure continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and assist in compliance of department policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for various administrative tasks including preparation of correspondence, reports, set-up and maintenance of employee files.
  • Responsible for Managing the Health & Wellness program annually for MSS
  • Responsible for external recruitment and selection
  • Responsible for weekly updates on number of Auxiliary employees in the building and weekly meetings with production for required employees
  • Responsible for employee change forms, full time offers/termination letter
  • Responsible for the training and set up of new employees in Magna (Swipe Cards, Login ID, Parking Pass, Employee Pictures, Lockers, Payroll, Documentation, etc)
  • Responsible for HRIS and necessary input for Peoplesoft, Kronos, PeopleNET
  • Responsible for the One on Ones / Performance Reviews of all hourly associates
  • Participate in all audits relating to HR (i.e. HR Assessment, H&S Audit/Inspections, MAFACT, etc.)
  • Responsible for the Orientation program and the delivery of the program to all new MSS employees
  • Check and verify employees Lates/Absentees, following up with employee and supervisors
  • Other duties as assigned

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • 2 - 5 year’s experience in Human Resources and or Health and Safety.
  • Post-Secondary Education / Certificate in Human Resources Management or a related field.
  • Strong computer skills (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Shift Hours: 9:30 am – 5:30 pm
