Role Summary

 

The HR Coordinator demonstrates outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. They are a conceptual thinker with fantastic organizational and time management skills.

This position requires excellent administrative and IT skills with the ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

This position supports the HR Generalist and HR Manager in the execution of strategy and the coordination of HR Programs.

The HR Coordinator, builds and maintains effective employee relations throughout all levels of the organization.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Accountable for the maintenance of internal communication boards, including job postings. Maintain form kiosks, and Magna Now, communication software.
  • Support full cycle recruitment activity through Career net by completing applicant screening, attending interviews employment skill testing. Conduct reference checks and verify applicant documentation.
  • Prepare orientation packages, schedule orientation, participate in orientation and ensure completion of all onboarding documentation including employee file. Issues photo ID badges.
  • Maintain Attendance Program and issue communications as advised by department manager.
  • Discipline writing and workplace investigations.
  • Maintain Peoplesoft and ADP database sto ensure it is up to date.
  • Administer employee training program by booking, completing requisitions, and communicating details to attendees. Ensure training spreadsheet is maintained for monthly reporting.
  • Prepare letters, memorandums, and other documents as required.
  • Support communications by preparing communication meetings, developing program materials, minute taking and taking photos of company activities.
  • Monitor and maintain service award program and continuous improvement program. 
  • Coordinate the facilitation of internal and external social events with the department manager.
  • Support Fairness Committee objectives with department manager.
  • Coordinate Magna wellness program and encourage employee involvement.
  • Back up employee advocate in the administration of the employee uniform program.
  • Work with employee advocate with locker program and ensure spreadsheet is being maintained.
  • Maintain employee forms and assess effectiveness of forms regularly.
  • Any other duty which is required by the Human Resources Manager.

 

Key Qualifications / Expecations

 

  • Minimum 2 (two) years of experience working in a Human Resource Department
  • Post Secondary Education in Human Resources
  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workloads.
  • Familiar with applicable employment legislation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly developed organizational skills.
  • CHRP or working towards

  • Regularly exposed to work environment consisting of heat and noise.
  • Be able to work rotating hour, routine hours with occasional overtime.
  • Works under general supervision on assigned tasks
