Key Responsibilities

 

Ensure division accounting principles comply with corporate principles

Track status of divisional improvement plans, action plans and annual business objectives and key operating indicators

Prepare quarter & year end schedules requested by Group Office

Prepare and present quarterly results to group management. Provide certification of quarterly results
Prepare year-end audit file and complete review with internal/external auditors

Provide additional information as requested by Group Office

Coordinate and preparation of and review of departmental plans

Prepare divisional annual business plan and presentation

Review plans with group management and provide any requested feedback or support

Submit business plans to Group Office within published timelines

Maintain ongoing forecasts of key financial metrics, with appropriate tie in to divisional improvement plans

Ensure division has accurate cost/quote systems and procedures in place

Prepare all divisional capital requests and review with group management

Prepare all divisional quotes for new business

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Ensure all information in the Capital Tracking System is complete, accurate and current

Ensure division has adequate Financial Systems, Controls, Policies and Procedures (including proper cutoff) in place to ensure complete, accurate and timely preparation and submission of monthly results

Ensure complete and accurate documentation of divisional financial systems and controls in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley exist

Compare procedures with other Controllers, and implement “best practice” procedures at the division (examples: Job Costing, ABC modules, Quote modules, Fixed Asset tracking, and Inventory control procedures)

Develop and execute action plan for all corrective actions recommended during any internal or external divisional audits

Key Responsibilities

 

Overall supervision of accounting department (GL responsibility)

Ensure accounting department is appropriately staffed and adequately trained to carry out all accounting functions

Manage capital assets and ensure system of tagging and safeguarding is effective

Coordinate quarterly inventory counts or cycle counts where permissible

Provide guidance and assistance to divisional management as necessary

Evaluate performance of staff

Ensure timely filing of sales tax and other commodity, property and payroll tax returns

 

MANAGERIAL / SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:

 Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable, etc.,

Key Qualifications/Requirements

 

Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting

Accounting Designation (CA, CMA, CGA)

A proven leader who works effectively with cross-functional teams

10 years of Accounting experience with 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
