About the Role

The Automation Engineer, reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, will be responsible for ensuring that Automation System for all industrial processes are implemented correctly, following Magna specification.

The Automation Engineer will be also responsible of supporting Production and Maintenance for the correct functioning of all the automation systems present in the Moncalieri and Santena plants and of supporting Advanced Manufacturing Enigneering to identidy the correct solution for automation during the industrialization phase of the assembly line. 

Responsabilità principali

Key Responsibilities.

  • Knowledge of Kuka, Fanuc, Comau robot sw development
  • Knowledge of specific simulation packages
  • Knowledge of automated assembly processes
  • Knowledge and experience on systems with interactions between robots in the same Work area
  • Experience in processing and verifying safety matrix
  • Use of tools for defining safety areas and volumes
  • Experience in configuring/testing security applications.
  • Attend and participate in internal and external meetings for Automation System
  • Create Specification for traceability process
  • Provide all the necessary support on board the machine or remotely in the field.
  • Plan and meet project deadlines, preparing reports on progress and final testing.
  • Using camera systems for parts recognition / QR code / vision systems
  • PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Omron)
  • Training of Process Engineer, Maintenance People and Team Leader on the Robot utilization

Your Responsibilities

  • Masters or Bachelor’s degree in technical subjects as mechatronics, mechanics, electrical engineering, information technology
  • Minimum 5 years in related field (preferably in Automotive Manufacturing industry).
  • Good knowledge of English
  • Good knowledge of Office
  • Basic knowledge of the electrical equipment of industrial automatic lines/machines.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, problem solving & interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel globally is critical for this position.
  • Ability to work flexible hours when required.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Experience in global teamwork and different cultures.
  • Knowledge of PFMEA and Work instruction
  • Minimum 5 years of Work experience as a Robot/PLC Programmer
