Position Summary

The Facility Technician ensures all plant and facility equipment associated with the successful fabrication of product is serviced and maintained in a timely manner.  The facility tech is responsible for maintaining facility systems; performing preventive and predictive maintenance on all installed equipment to minimize downtime, while keeping safety and quality as a priority.  The Facility Tech supports Management, Area Leaders, and Production Associates by acting as a liaison in matters regarding building & property issues, safety, and continuous improvement for equipment, processes and productivity.  This is a 3rd shift position from 10 pm to 6 am, Sunday through Thursday.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cleaning of plant floor, office, bathroom and outdoors including snow removal and salting
  • Drive floor scrubber daily or as required to maintain a clean plant environment
  • Performs routine plumbing repairs such as unstopping toilets, sinks, or urinals, fixing water or air leaks, leaking faucets and water fountains
  • Performs routine electrical repairs such as replacing light bulbs and assisting the in house electricians with electrical installations.
  • Assembles and moves furniture, hang pictures and bulletin boards, makes signs and name plates, moves and sets up tables and chairs
  • Replace filters in HVAC units
  • Drywall and painting repairs around the facility as required both indoors and out
  • Minor welding and fabrication jobs
  • Service, maintain, repair, install and test new or existing facility equipment and verify conformance to specifications.

Required Skills and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to operate or be trained to operate a forklift, aerial lift, floor scrubber, etc.
  • Ability to perform various computer tasks dealing with Microsoft Office and emails.
  • Experience in plumbing, carpentry, drywalling and painting is an asset.
  • Valid Driver's license

Additional Information

  • Ability to understand, anticipate and follow direction while exercising maturity of judgement.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and some overtime in a fast-paced environment and with a variable workload.
  • Must be able to work off a ladder, aerial lift or plant roof at heights up to 40 feet off ground level.
  • May be exposed to elements such as temperature and noise during time spent in the plant or at customer or supplier facilities.
