Closures Technical Centre, a division of Magna International Inc., is focused on the design, development and testing of Mechatronics products for the automotive industry.  We are currently looking for a Junior Software Integration Engineer with Python experience for a 12-month contract in Newmarket, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, Code and Debug innovative applications to develop new technology and transform internal processes using agile software development methodology
  • Improve CAE analyses as well as EE/ME processes to enable efficient and robust product development
  • Optimize and integrate software development process, with design and test automation/validations to reach high correlation confidence levels and implement the digital twin
  • Record, analyze and integrate historical development (design, analyses and test) data into future designs to shrink PD cycle and improve response time to customer – apply data science/ML principles to develop insights and apply to better predict product behaviors
  • Research and implement the latest technology and process improvements methodologies
  • Ownership over your own work and a commitment to every part of a task, from the big picture to small details

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum BASC in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent degree
  • 1-2 years of experience in software integration and development in related field
  • Proficient in Python development with Scikit, Keras, Pandas, etc.
  • Additional experience preferred: Visual Studio, MFC, .NET, Eclipse, JVM, Javascript, SQL, VBA, Matlab, Simulink, Statistical modeling
  • Familiarity with SQL Databases, Big Data, IoT, Data Analytics, AI and optimization routines like Genetic Algorithms, etc
  • Understanding of core Data Science concepts such as data structures/models and algorithms and machine learning (ML)
  • Experience with object oriented and functional programming, version control like git, github
  • Understanding of multiple software development processes, design patterns
  • Basic understanding of mechanical design and analyses processes
  • Experience with Windows and Embedded development environments and libraries is beneficial
  • MS Office suite + Automation and App development
