• Adhere to all safety and health objectives, policies and procedures of Norplas to provide for a safe and healthful workplace. Work in a safe manner at all times and report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor in order that the situation can be corrected. Report all accidents and near misses in a timely manner when they occur.
• Must wear proper protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain proper ergonomics at all times when performing assigned tasks.
• Meet and maintain all customer quality standards as well as the standards of Norplas.
• Perform daily cross-functional job assignments in all areas of your assigned department per the established procedures and work guidance.
• Participate and support all lean, continuous improvement programs, initiatives and activities.
• Meet or exceed daily production goals as directed by the Production Team Leader and the departmental objectives.
• Clean all assigned work areas after completion of the required work, return all tools to proper storage area at the end of the shift and report any malfunctioning equipment to the Production Team Leader.
• Record and report all data required to maintain daily production records and submit the data to the Production Team Leader for input into the Norplas data collection system.
• Direct all non-conforming parts to the appropriate reprocess area.
• Maintain proper radio etiquette when using company radios, business use only.
• Perform all assigned tasks per the work guidance sheets, TPMs and quality alerts.
• Perform daily forklift inspections and turn in to the Safety Department.
• Change propane tanks in accordance with established safety procedures including the wearing of PPE.
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed in accordance with Company Policy.
• Assist other forklift drivers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Team Leader.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain adequate supplies at the press (tape, bags, components). Do not overstock.
• Place empty racks at the press and remove full racks and place in proper WIP location.
• Accurately place all parts in proper locations, inside and out.
• Supply product to secondary equipment.
• Take partials from WIP and take to press to be filled when applicable.
• Assist team members with labeling racks and removing/replacing poles.
• Assist team members with cell set up during mold changes.
• Bring snow covered racks in from outside and clean (when appropriate).
• Pull product for sorts.
• Supply team members doing sorts with product and adequate supplies.
• Create space for overflow.
• At end of shift collect all dirty/defective bags from presses and empty trash.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
• Ability to read, write and speak English effectively along with basic mathematical skills required.
• Must successfully complete and pass the theory and practical training module as stated in the Norplas Forklift Safety Policy to obtain a license and operate a forklift.
• Must have a valid government issued driver license.
• Must successfully pass a practical re-certification audit, every three years or as required through OSHA Standards.
Additional Information
Previous forklift experience preferred as well as an understanding of manufacturing operations.
This position requires a person to have the ability to perform work while standing or walking a minimum of eight (8) hours a day. The ability to lift up to 15 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis, and the ability to perform work that is below the knees and above the shoulders on an
