Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to maintain an approved supply base.
  • Preparation of RFQ packages
  • Analysis of supplier quotations
  • Recommend sourcing decisions based on cost, quality, delivery and financial stability
  • Negotiation of all commercial aspects of material / component, indirect and services purchases.
  • Drive supplier cost savings through on-going negotiations.
  • Support program launches through participation in the PDP process
  • Maintain purchasing records, process internal eRequisitions and issue Purchase Orders as required.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Strong Negotiation Skills
  • Strong Inter-Personal Skills
  • Ability to understand technical aspects of the components / materials in their portfolio
  • Strong communication skills - verbal and written
  • Proficiency in computer skills (Microsoft Office, Trans4M etc.)
  • University Degree or College Diploma required
  • Minimum of 6+ years Purchasing Experience
  • Automotive Purchasing Experience considered an asset.
  • Extensive electronics background

  • Work in compliance with and support company policies, procedures, work instructions and programs relating to health/safety and environment
  • Provide support and resources in a timely manner to address health and safety or environmental concerns or hazards that require corrective action
  • Have clear goals communicated to for health/safety and environmental protection
  • Review accident/incident investigation reports to ensure that corrective actions have been completed
  • Conduct regular audits of work area(s) to ensure no safety hazards or environmental issues exist
