Role Summary

The Six Sigma Black Belt is responsible for creating and delivering Six Sigma training and mentoring lower level belts throughout the organization. This person will also lead complex improvement projects.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Required: B.S. degree in Engineering or related technical field.

 Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt (preferred) certification by a reputable academy / company with practical manufacturing application
Solid background in quality, manufacturing, continuous improvement, and/or Lean Six Sigma
Familiar with the use of statistical software (MINITAB preferred) as well as SPC methods
Must have solid Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skill sets
Highly energetic & self-driven, motivated to succeed
Strong time and project management skills

Must be able to at least meet the physical demands as defined by the current production requirements and the job function evaluation.


Key Responsibilities

Develop, conduct, & maintain training for Yellow Belts and Green Belts
Performs capability and other statistical assessments
Mentor, coach, & provide oversight to Green Belts, Yellow Belts, & other team members for all Six Sigma projects
Leads meetings reporting the status of all projects to plant management
Promote use of Lean Six Sigma methodology and tools
Work with various departments to provide project leadership as it pertains to cost savings, efficiency improvement, and/or quality improvement, for both operational and transactional processes.
Collaborate with plant management & process owners on data analysis and interpretation to achieve identification, selection, and prioritization of improvement projects, as well as identification and reduction/elimination of chronic sources of waste
Demonstrate excellent safety habits through adherence to all safety rules and procedures
Participate in department meetings.
Develop written communication such as but not limited to weekly news lines and other Magna periodicals.
May require working any shift, overtime, and weekends as required.
Complete other assigned duties as required.
Participate in all Magna and Nascote required training.
