Position Summary

The CMM Technician is responsible to operate the coordinate measuring machines and to carry out a wide variety of duties in respect to maintaining the accuracy of our “master” measuring tools with a positive cooperative attitude supporting both the department and departmental leadership. CMM Technicians are expected to facilitate solutions and possess excellent listening, communication, problem solving and organizational skills. This is a 2nd shift position ( 2pm to 10 pm).


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate CMMs to ensure accuracy for correlations and other activities.
  • Operate overhead cranes.
  • Ensure all gauges and fixtures are maintained and certified.
  • Perform capability / reliability studies.
  • Support all special projects (i.e. SMR’s, Prototype, Repair).
  • Provide support to all departments to resolve dimensional related issues.

Required knowledge and experience

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent.
  • Must have experience running CMM programs or equivalent Coordinate Machine programming experience.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent.
  • Exposure to Quality Assurance systems and requirements an asset.
  • Familiar with GD&T, IATF16949, AIAG Core Tools-MSA

Additional Information

Will work under the direction of the Quality Manager.  Travel and overtime may be required to meet customer expectations. A valid driver’s license and passport are required for travel. The CMM Operator works in a manufacturing plant environment and will be exposed to some elements such as temperature and noise.  Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime in a fast-paced environment in order to meet internal/external customer requirements.
