Position Summary

The Maintenance Team Lead ensures all plant and facility equipment associated with the successful fabrication of product is serviced and maintained in a timely manner.  The Team Lead is responsible for troubleshooting systems; performing preventive and predictive maintenance on all installed equipment to minimize downtime, while keeping safety and quality as a priority; providing training and technical support to Assembly and Maintenance Team Members.  The Team Lead will be the lead maintenance technician to train & assist in production operations, and supports Management, Area Leaders, and Production Associates by acting as a liaison in matters regarding automation, safety, and continuous improvement for equipment, processes and productivity. This is a 3rd shift position with hours of 10:00 pm to 6:00 am, Sunday through Thursday.

Core Duties

Service, maintain, repair, install and test new or existing equipment and verify conformance to specifications. (Robot/Welding/Lasers); Complete repairs, modifications and installations as required; Provide plant support and lead in troubleshooting of process problems; Deal extensively with production team and other support groups as well as vendors (both parts suppliers and equipment suppliers);  Provides updates and shift notes to the other Team Leaders; Enter all breakdown details into the Maintenance PM database and by end of shift; Carries out preventative/predictive maintenance procedures; Takes the lead in the continuous improvement process to improve productivity and quality cost reduction activities; repairs and systems improvements (optimization) and focuses on solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3-5 years Manaufacturing experience.
  • At least 1 year experience with robots and PLC control systems in a robotic welding capacity, preferably in an industrial automotive setting.
  • Experience in FANUC Robot automation programming and troubleshooting,
  • At least 1 year experience in a leadership role.

Additional Information

Acts as part of the first-response team in production-down situations, lending product and manufacturing expertise to keep production flowing through the plant. Shift changes may be required periodically in order to properly balance the skill sets of each shifts in order to protect the customer demand.  Travel may be required with occasional overnight accommodation at various locations. Overtime may be required to meet program expectations. The Team Lead may be exposed to elements such as temperature and noise during time spent in the plant or at customer or supplier facilities.  Ability to obtain and retain a valid passport is required.
