Position Summary

The Materials Scheduler ensures Customer Shipments (Production and Service) are met and serves as the primary Customer contact for Shipping discrepancies and concerns, as well as maintaining an accurate inventory within the ERP system.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

Review and analyze inbound EDI releases from the Customers (830 Releases and 862 Releases); Maintain JIT communications with Customers to ensure releases are reflective of ship windows; Work with Senior Inventory Analyst to ensure our Production plan meets Customer requirements; Ensure we have adequate inventory to support Customer demand plus Min/ Safety Stock; Communicate any shortages to Materials Manager and follow our escalation process; Perform daily audits on Customer Shippers and empty returns from the Customers; Audit Production reports daily and work with Senior Inventory Analyst to make any changes to our Production plan; Provide data to Materials team to promote lean inventory levels in accordance with defined safety stock levels.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong organizational, planning, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a maturity of judgement, leadership skills, attention to detail and exceptional organizational, listening, communication and presentation skills in all aspects of the job function.
  • Excellent math skills with the ability to apply to cost and analyze data.
  • Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment in order to meet customer requirements.
  • Must be able to interact effectively with other team members.
  • Able to appreciate and maintain proper level of confidentiality, using discretion and tact.

Additional Information

Under the general direction of the Materials Manager, the Material Scheduler works independently and confers regularly with inside and outside contacts to ensure successful implementation of programs & projects. Travel may be required with occasional overnight accommodation at various locations. Overtime may be required to meet program expectations. The Material Scheduler may be exposed to elements such as temperature and noise during time spent in the plant or at customer or supplier facilities.  Ability to obtain and retain a valid passport is required.
