Position Summary

The Materials Planner & Logistics Analyst ensures accurate releases are sent out to the Suppliers & timely receipt of purchase parts from Suppliers and serves as the primary contact for Suppliers and Logistics carriers as well as maintaining an accurate inventory within the ERP system.

Duties & Responsibilities

Utilize ERP to generate release forecasts and daily ship schedules to Suppliers, Determine appropriate stock levels and required space for purchase parts, help create layouts and picking routes for material delivery, Maintain JIT communications with Supplier and ensure Suppliers are shipping to the provided releases, Work with Supplier on past dues and escalate as needed, Clearly communicate all deviations, shortage or overages daily and reasons for the change, Analyze Supplier releases to ensure Supplier orders support our Production plan, Communicate any component shortages to Materials Manager and follow our escalation process. Provide data to Materials team to promote lean inventory levels in accordance with defined safety stock levels, Perform daily audits on Supplier receipts and empty returns to the Suppliers.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 1-2 years’ Materials experience in a warehouse, planning or logistics capacity
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced environment and with a variable workload
  • Strong organizational, planning, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate a maturity of judgement, leadership skills, attention to detail and exceptional organizational, listening, communication and presentation skills in all aspects of the job function.
  • Excellent math skills with the ability to apply to cost and analyze data.
  • Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment in order to meet customer requirements

Additional Information

Travel may be required with occasional overnight accommodation at various locations. Overtime may be required to meet program expectations. The Material Planner & Logistics Analyst may be exposed to elements such as temperature and noise during time spent in the plant or at customer or supplier facilities.  Ability to obtain and retain a valid passport is required.
