Position Summary

The Production Supervisor ensures all requirements associated with the successful fabrication of product are met. The Supervisor/Area Leader oversees production operations, and supports Management, Team Leaders, and Production Associates by acting as a liaison in matters regarding policy application, employee relations, safety, and continuous improvement for processes and productivity. This position carries direct and/or indirect supervisory responsibility and is on 2nd shift (2 pm to 10 pm)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains effective communications/interaction with all other departments in order to achieve established targets.
  • Implements and supports MAFACT Standards
  • Plans and directs the utilization of all equipment and manpower to achieve the most effective results.
  • Using data to implement improvements by working with teams and using lean tools and problem solving methods
  • Coordinates preventative maintenance with Maintenance and Production Planning.
  • Monitors and completes required Layered Process Audits (LPAs).
  • Coordinates the movement of quarantine material/parts/scrap upon disposition by Quality Assurance.
  • Ensures all assembly equipment running 100% of allowed time

Required Skills & Experience

 

  • 2-year College (or University) Associates or Technical degree in Production/Operations Management or related field; vocational/trade school program certification in Manufacturing, Production or related field; and/or equivalent work related experience.
  • Minimum 5 years manufacturing/operations experience with minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Experienced in Lean Manufacturing concepts (standardized work, 5S)
  • Experience with recognized problem solving techniques; i.e., A3, 8D, 5Why
  • Familiarity with Robotic welded sheet metal assemblies
