Position Summary

Utilizing various software platforms, the Programmer Analyst will implement data and information tools to develop programs and dashboards to support the daily operation in the manufacturing environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Program and develop tools utilizing Ignition SCADA software; Review and analyse multiple data sources to present information to management team; Work with various programs to support information needs of the plant; Learn, understand, and support various applications used in the plant; Ensure systems reliability through redundancy, backups and security; Help train and support users on new applications, changes, upgrades and/or recommend external training resources and co-ordinate effective training schedules; Provide on-call availability in case of a work-related emergency that requires immediate attention; Handle the day-to-day analysis, design, implementation, testing and integration of internal applications; Work closely with all internal groups, advising of the best approach for application development, enhancements, upgrades and integration; Set development standards with respect to languages, application design, programming tools, procedures and documentation while collaborating with Cosma; Assist in the implementation and continuous improvement of the ERP software system (CMS).

Required Skills and Experience

  • College degree in Computer Science.
  • Experience with MSSQL is a must.
  • IBM DB2 knowledge is an asset .
  • Python/Jython knowledge is an asset.
  • Knowledge of C# is an asset.
  • Experience working in both an office and automotive manufacturing environment is desired.
  • Extensive hands on experience with the analysis, evaluation, implementation, and support of application hardware, software and security systems.
  • Technical background with an emphasis on the Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server and complex TCP/IP networks.
  • Experience implementing and supporting third-party applications including server, client and upgrades.
