About the Role

Production Team Leaders are accountable to co-ordinate the daily production activities of the team to ensure quality standards and production schedules are achieved and to support the Production Supervisors. 

Available Shifts:

Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM or 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM

Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM or 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM

Your Responsibilities

•    Train new operators/monitor all operators’ performance and ensuring versatility matrix is updated with operator competencies
•    JES completion and compliance
•    Ensure prestart safety sheets are completed at the beginning of every shift
•    Ensures operators have the necessary supplies required to run the lines. ie. gloves etc. 
•    Distributes parts to the stations as supplied by the AMR’s or Material Handlers to ensure the line keeps running
•    Verify that operators are adhering to the quality alert requirements
•    CMS production reporting
•    New model signoff (customer part #, traceability & quantity)
•    Adherence to packaging instructions
•    Position operators into various jobs, as requested, to support weekly schedule requirements
•    Complete work order for respective lines (lot control, quantity produced, revision level changes etc)
•    Communicate with the Materials, Maintenance, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering groups to ensure production measurables are met
•    Monitor operator performance per whiteboard count and advise Supervisor if performance is below standard
•    Assists Assemblers with submission of Employee Involvement (E.I.) Suggestions
•    Provide washroom relief for operators
•    Track and record downtime in downtime database for respective lines
•    Maintain cycle time adherence on assembly lines as defined by production
•    Responsible for obtaining correct labels as per Bill of Material, controlling label distribution, and ensuring only current labels are at the end of the line
•    Ensure 5S standards are upheld & continually improved
•    Assist in coordinating all service/sample building, ensuring that the line is not excessively affected
•    Ensure all rework/repair procedures are followed, processing repairs through the function testers expediently (team)
•    Involvement in continuous improvement through operator feedback and self-assessment
•    Assist in the motivation of operators on the line
•    Maintain confidentiality
•    Verify record of scrap through the scrap tally process (Daily)
•    Verify record of rework through the rework tally process
•    Uphold and enforce Magna Production System (MPS) principles of standardization and one piece flow
•    Must be aware of relevance and importance of their activities and how it affects quality and the environment for our customers
•    Responsible for set up/changeover 
•    Overtime as required to support the line. 
•    Perform other duties as required

Your preferred qualifications

•    6 months to 1 year of work experience as a team leader in a high volume manufacturing environment
•    Minimum of 6 months experience as an assembly operator
•    Previous experience working in an Automotive Manufacturing
•    Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D) equivalency preferred.
•    Comprehends the three main control factors of a production plant: NG (no good parts), DT (downtime), CT (cycle time).
