POSITION OVERVIEW

The Prototype Operator is accountable for the preparation, building, packaging and shipment of all new models and/or special product builds for both internal and external customers.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the assembling and checking of new products/prototypes and samples in conjunction with Program Management, Engineering and Quality Engineering.
  • Communicates with Quality Engineering and the Prototype Coordinator the arrival of new components (purchased and stamped).
  • Retrieves orders electronically in customer portals (Covisint)
  • Updates Covisint with shipment commitment dates
  • Prepares all prototypes for inspection and shipping including but not limited to tags, labels, Bills of Lading, Packing Slips, Commercial Invoices and all necessary Customer paperwork.
  • Participates and recommends solutions to build issues as a member of the cross-functional team.
  • In conjunction with materials, orders all means of transportation required to deliver parts on time.
  • Responsible to train in the assembly of new components as required.
  • Ensure that all Operator Instruction procedures are followed.
  • Control and prepare all labels as required.
  • Prepares Commercial Invoices and posts shipments
  • Supports program team
  • Organize cycle count and audit program.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D) equivalency preferred
  • 1 to less than 3 years of work related experience.
  •  (Computer proficiency Microsoft Office, Drive)
