Weld Quality Auditor (Midnight Shift)

Responsibilities:
•    Perform Cut & Etch sample preparation and inspection: weld identification, measurements, plasma cutting, rough sectioning, polishing, imaging, measurements & preparation of reports and maintenance of health charts.
•    Complete weld destructive testing, dimensional, Cut & Etch first off/ last off and in process verifications as per OQR/ JES requirements to the priority schedule and providing timely feedback to Production, Quality and/or Engineering.
•    Prepare and submits test results and rejected reports to Production Supervisors, Quality and Managers and maintains/ files, records, ensuring document control; all appropriate paperwork is completed, filed & retrievable. 
•    Ensure in-process & rejected parts are segregated, identified and quarantined or scrapped following the NCR process as applicable.
•    Maintains & updates priority boards & provides progress reports to Weld Quality Team Leader and/ or Mfg. representatives.
•    Conducts Layered Process Audits (LPA’s) as per released schedule.
•    Provides input into resolving quality problems as well as feedback on the viability of improvements.
•    Responsible for maintaining all CAE 5S; lab equipment, inventory and facilities in state of readiness, repair, cleanliness & organization.

 

Skills and Qualifications
•    ASQ, CQT or equivalent certificate an asset.
•    Detail oriented with excellent analytical and observation ability.
•    3 years previous experience working in an Automotive Quality department.
•    Prior experience using metrology and analytic equipment such as height gauge, micrometer, optical comparator, calipers, tensile tester, force gauges, attribute and variable gauges.
•    Blueprint Reading Skills & SPC knowledge.  
•    Good computer skills. 
•    Neat, legible writing ability in order to complete & maintain logs & records  
•    Auditing skills & experience required.
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
•    Energetic, organized multitasker to maintain effectiveness in fast paced production environment
•    Prior experience using equipment such as rough cutting saw, polishing, acid etching.
•    Backup duties include completion of floor QA OQR’s inspections & related tasks as maybe needed
•    Train other assigned personnel in the CAE process as necessary.
•    Other duties as required by the Quality Supervisor
•    Responsible to protect own health and safety by working in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures. 
•    Must comply with all ISO 14001 (Environmental) and OHSAS 18001 (Health and Safety) systems and standards as it pertains to their work
•    Adhere to by all AODA and C-TPAT procedures that apply to their position
•    Adheres to the IATF16949 Standard as required
