Role Summary

•    To exhibit a fair and consistent management approach which follows the principles outlined in The Magna Employee’s Charter to ensure a satisfied and productive employee workplace.
•    To persuade and support the following of Company policies and business objectives in the daily operations of the Company.
•    To lead and participate in continuous improvement activities directly related to creating a safe working environment at Norplas.
•    To lead the coordination of environmental, health and safety objectives which provide for a safe and healthful workplace for all Norplas employees. 
•    To respond to Agency (EPA, BWC, OSHA, etc.) correspondences and requests in a professional, respectful, and expeditious manner.
 

Key Responsibilities

•    Environmental Responsibilities- Ensure all environmental reports are submitted accurately and on time pertaining to areas such as:
•    Air: Oversee and ensure compliance to the facilities Title V permit.  Ensure all permit and regulatory required reporting is compiled and submitted accordingly.  Ensure that the Title V permit is maintained and that all permit applications/modifications are submitted for process       changes.  Maintain up to date records for the facility’s Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer and other associated emission sources.
•    Water:  Ensure all process water discharges and stormwater discharges are compliant with the facility’s NPDES permit and discharge orders.  Ensure that all permits are maintained and that all permit applications and modifications are submitted for process changes.  
•    Hazardous Waste:  Coordinate and manage the facility’s hazardous waste program.
•    Land:  Oversee facilities SPCC plan and SWPPP, outside storage of materials, and landfill disposal management.  Coordinate recycling efforts of all recyclable scrap at Norplas.
•    ISO14001:  Ensure maintenance of facilities ISO 14001 certification


•    Safety Responsibilities- Guide the development and implementation of Norplas Health and Safety policies and programs.
•    Investigate and maintain records for all work-related injuries and/or illnesses, provide statistical analysis, and assist department management in the development of effective health and safety countermeasures to continuously improve safety objectives.
•    Oversee the Worker’s Compensation Program and implement an effective plan for minimizing and reducing worker injuries and associated costs in relationship to measurable data from the State of Ohio BWC.
•    Ensure legislative compliance with OSHA and Fire Codes and serve as a liaison with local agency representatives.
•    Support the Joint Health and Safety Committee and help to coordinate activities, recommendations, and accountability of issues identified by the JHSC.
•    Conduct routine workplace safety inspections and establish measurable standards from which further recommendations (continuous improvement) can be made, with effective follow-up. 
•    Coordinate emergency evacuation procedures, training, and practice drills.
•    Coordinate isocyanate awareness training program and monitor on a continuous basis.
 

Key Qualifications/Requirements

•    Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Environmental and Occupation Health and Safety Management or related STEM field.

Additional Information

•    Minimum 3 to 5 years Health, Safety, and Environmental experience.
•    Mandatory - Experience working with and applying for Environmental Permits
•    Mandatory - Experience in Environmental reporting
•    Mandatory- Title V Air Permit experience
•    Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Demonstrated oral and written communication skills as well as strong organizational skills.
•    Strong computer skills to include database development and management
