About the Role
Magna Steyr is looking for talented and experienced team members in complete vehicle development who are determined and passionate about developing the next level industry standard for vehicle architectures and production solutions. Designs, develops, and improves new or existing product and assist in the building and testing of prototype vehicles.
Your Responsibilities
• Self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision.
• Experience with automotive parts - ability to inspect, diagnose repair, and/or replace vehicle operating systems (air conditioning, powertrain, suspension, brakes, etc.)
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, or other build documentation.
• General knowledge of interior and exterior vehicle assembly, service, and aftermarket modifications.
• Experience with installation of wiring harnesses and thermal hose systems.
• Experience performing, and the use of power tools required, to modify sheet metal and plastic components; this includes A-surface components.
• Perform and certify inspections & tests in accordance with technical documentation, escalate issues to management.
• Utilize computerized equipment to record build data for work performed.
• Operate a vehicle lift in a safe manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities to support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
• Participate when required in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and work instruction reviews.
• Identify and support continuous improvement projects (e.g., cost reduction, efficiency improvements, etc.)
• Ensures 6S, housekeeping, and health and safety standards are maintained.
• May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description.
Who we are looking for
• 2+ years experience in an automotive environment, required.
• Experience working in a team environment, required.
• Excellent oral and written skills.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Associate degree preferred
Your preferred qualifications
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Hi-lo license.
• Welding certification is a plus.
• Journeyman or Apprenticeship preferred.
