Product Engineer - Electronics Hardware

Role Summary

Provide the support for electronics module development, analyze and simulate circuit performance, design the circuit schematic based on product system requirements, validate and test the electronics components, electronics module both at electronics and system levels.

Key Responsibilities

•    Support system/product requirements specifications, solution definition, technical feasibility analysis, and architecture specification
•    Provide engineering support for sales presentations, technical solutions discussions, and product demonstrations with prospective customers.
•    Develop electrical hardware in compliance with customer requirements and internal process
•    Support the architecture level development and testing requirements.
•    Circuit board design include power supplies, IO processing, ADCs/DACs, motor drivers, CAN/LIN protocals
•    Aware of innovative solutions and propose patent applications
•    Perform detailed work assignments provided by the mentor or team member, by applying established and well-defined product architecture techniques.
•    Assist in resolution of complex/difficult product issues as necessary
•    Support EMC design reviews, and ensures best practices are followed  
•    Participates in continuous improvement efforts, researches, recommends and initiates implementation of enhancements to products, processes, and programs.
•    Develop design, analysis, and test guides and training material.  
•    Schedule training classes and conduct training to internal Engineers as needed.  
•    Technical mentor for engineers globally.
•    Supports Internal / External Audit efforts regarding ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949 Certification for remote site location (Group Office).
•    Supports the requirements as detailed in Standard Operating Procedure 8000 (Quality Management System).

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (or bachelor’s equivalency) in Electrical Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Master’s degree is preferred. 
Experience/Special Knowledge/Skills
5 years diversified engineering experience, to include 3 years’ experience in Circuit Design.  
Recognized within the organization as a technical expert within field of expertise preferred.
Full-cycle design experiences on automotive controller /circuit design
Comprehensive knowledge of analog, digital, power, memory, integrated circuits
Experiences of microcontroller hardware design and implementation techniques.
Knowledge of expertise may include:
Analog, digital, Power and Integrated Circuit design and implementation techniques for optimal electrical performance.
•    Electrical circuit test and troubleshooting methods
•    Electrical product development process
•    Deep and comprehensive planned and structured engineering approach 
•    Deep and comprehensive structured problem-solving techniques (8D).
•    Deep and comprehensive electrical design, simulation and testing techniques. 
•    Analysis, simulation, development of design documentation (ME/EE interface, HSIS, WCCA, DFMEA, Schematic)
•    Comprehensive knowledge of analysis and engineering tools
•    Electrical Circuit Simulators (PSpice, Saber, OrCad)
•    Schematic/PCD Design Tools (Alitum)
•    Electrical Test Equipment (Digital Scopes, Logic Analysers, etc.)
•    Working knowledge of CAN and LIN based tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape, neoVI
•    Knowledge of analysis and engineering tools: Electrical Circuit Simulators (PSpice, Saber), Schematic/PCD Design Tools (Alitum)       
•    Electrical Test Equipment (Digital Scopes, Logic Analysers, etc.)
•    Knowledge of analysis and engineering tools such as version control/configuration management, UML tools, static code check tools
•    ALM tools (PTC Integrity)
•    ADTF environment
•    Enterprise Architect 
Must demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, viable concept development, and proficiency with statistical methods, i.e. APQP, DFSS.  Must be able to use and improve math-based tools. 
Knowledge of government and OEM specifications in area of expertise.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully coordinate and complete multiple tasks within and across departments to meet established and changing deadlines.
Strong communication skills: verbal, written, and technical presentations.
Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.

Physical Demands/Work Environment
Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer, may require global travel.
