POSITION SUMMARY:
As a member of a cross-functional team, performs production work to assemble/fabricate a product or sub-assembly in accordance with team goals. Ensures product/process quality and efficiency through inspection and continuous improvement activities. Maintains procedures to provide compliance with quality standards for assigned area. Performs basic preventative maintenance and routine product changeover setups. Maintains material movement systems and completes proper paperwork and documentation. Participates in annual planning process, understanding plant objectives and identifying improvements to help attain goals. Performs other duties as necessary in support of team objectives.
The continental shift works a continuous cycle of 3 days on, 3 days off. This includes weekends. This shifts working hours will be 6pm to 6am.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma; or equivalent. 1 year’s experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Demonstrated good communication and interpersonal skills in order to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to operate within production and quality standards; including being able to operate/utilize all job-related equipment. Equipment may include hand carts, hand tools, production machinery and other related equipment and tools.
- Demonstrated good attendance, safety, and performance record.
- Demonstrated good communication and interpersonal skills in order to work effectively in a team environment. Must have a positive attitude and be able to deal with changing conditions.
- Must be able to interact effectively with other team members
DUTIES:
The duties listed below will be performed at different degrees dependent upon the assigned team. Responsibilities include General Assembly and other operations, material handling, and inspection. Associates are expected to improve and increase their skill levels within their classification.
- Performs production work to assemble or fabricate a product or sub-assembly in accordance with team production goals. May perform work manually and/or by machine operation.
- Ensures product and process quality and efficiency through appropriate inspection and continuous improvement problem solving activities. Maintains procedures and standards to provide compliance with quality standards for assigned area.
- Efficiently performs basic preventative maintenance and routine product changeover setups.
- Maintains material movement systems and completes proper paperwork and documentation to guide operations of the team.
- Performs/utilizes the Kanban system, RF system, inventory transactions, and barcode scanning.
- Report any unsafe condition or action to his or her supervisor.
- Report any work-related injury to his or her supervisor.
- Not operate a machine or equipment until trained in the operating procedures, hazards, and safeguards and has been assigned to do so by the employer.
- Not remove, displace, destroy, or carry off any safeguard or interfere with the use by any other person.
- Use required personal protective equipment or devices where required.
- Perform other duties as necessary in support of team objectives.
- Keeps work area clean and organized.
- Other duties as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- While performing the essential duties of this job:
- Regularly required: Standing 100%; walking 20%; if working conveyance/heijunka routes will be walking 90%.
- Regularly Required: repetitive movement of hands and fingers.
- May involve continuous or repetitive reaching with hands and arms, pushing and pulling of carts and racks.
- An Employee is required to lift 1 to 10 pounds constantly.
- An employee may be required to lift 10 to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Employee may lift up to 50 pounds on rare occasions.
- An employee may be required to twist at the waist and to bend at the knees or waist.
