Robotics Technician
Purpose and Responsibility of the Position:
Assembly Robotics Specialist will provide support, leadership and direction to the Maintenance Technicians and perform special function on all robots in the Assembly department. The Robotics Specialist will support and carry out the assignments and responsibilities given them by the area Technical Manager and Assistant Technical Manager.
The Assembly Robotics Specialist is responsible to ensure that the Customer, People, and Investor goals are balanced and met
Essential Functions of the Position:
In general, ensure the achievement of OEE targets for the individual Business Units.
Additional task may include but will not be limited to:
1. Work with minimal supervision.
2. Supports Manufacturing Engineering in the development of standards and specifications, including a complete purchase parts list related to Robotic systems.
3. Plans and implements improvements within Assembly related to the specific Robotic systems.
4. Participates in cross-functional project teams supporting activities related to Robotic issues.
5. Provides technical support for Robotic systems during the introduction of new models.
6. Ensures proper Robotic specific documentation delivery form the Original Equipment Manufacturer.
7. Provides technical support to Assembly for resolving Robotic related issues.
8. Supports the Assembly Department Technical Training and Development program by conducting training classes, providing technical documentation, etc.
9. Make necessary adjustments to parts and machinery to ensure proper production run.
10. Ensure properly documented equipment breakdown/activity reports.
11. Work with area maintenance planner to prioritize task to be done during non production hours.
12. Ensure scheduled maintenance task are completed and on time.
13. Identify training needs for Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance Weld Technicians. Provide requirements to Technical Manager and training department.
14. Provide feedback to maintenance supervisor for performance appraisal documentation.
15. Provide leadership and direction during equipment downtime situations. Robotics Specialist must be able to make good judgment decisions on technical matters and interface effectively with production supervision.
16. Ensures Root Cause of downtime is properly investigated and addressed.
17. Being competent with computer and robotic related software. (C++, C+, Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, Text Editor, etc).
18. Make necessary adjustments to parts and machinery to ensure proper production run.
19. Ensure new parts get ordered or returned unused part back to the correct stock location.
20. Attend QID 2 hour meetings on the shop floor as needed.
21. Update verification forms when needed.
22. Practices good housekeeping on the shop floor and in assembly cells.
23. Able to deals with vendors both parts suppliers and equipment suppliers.
24. Supervises the assembly and installation of new equipment and is able to make modifications to existing equipment as requested.
25. Responsible to train new Maintenance Technicians in robotic equipment and safety as assigned.
26. Sets up and perform preventative maintenance procedures on mechanical equipment for the Assembly Dept. as laid out by the manufacturer’s specifications.
27. Maintain maintenance Quality standards and preventative/ predictive maintenance program for the Assembly Dept. to insure compliance with TS16949 Management System QS9000 Requirements.
28. Maintain safety standards of equipment in work area.
29. Plus other duties as assigned
