Role Summary

This position is accountable for all activities necessary to process multiple payrolls that include multi-site, multi-state, multi-company, including maintaining related records, preparing accounting transactions and documents, documenting and updating procedures, studying current legislation and keeping abreast of new legislation to maintain compliance, and preparing special reports as requested.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages all activities necessary to process payroll for 3,000+ employees
  • Performs preparation of accounting transactions, documents or other information requests from divisional finance groups
  • Processing of federal and state payroll taxes
  • Coordinates year-end payroll processing in conjunction with the systems and human resources departments. Includes maintaining year-end documentation, coordinating work requirements, helping to ensure accurate annual changeover of payroll systems
  • Responsible for ensuring both employee and company information is kept confidential
  • Responsible for keepiong current on all compliance requirements 
  • Responsible for payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Analyzes payroll data for accuracy and develop reporting to support the department 
  • Reconciliation  of general ledger for payroll withholding accounts 
  • Year-end W2 balancing and processing 
  • Provides requested information for both internal and external audit
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or other related field preferred.
  • CPP certification preferred. 
  • ADP GlobalView experience strongly preferred.
  • 7 years of payroll processing experience in a multi-company manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Project management and work team or department coordination experience.
  • Background with 941X's and W2's
  • Exhibit a strong aptitude in understanding organizational policy considerations and statutory changes with minimal direction.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of the organization both on an individual basis and in groups.
  • Advanced technical and computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ADP GlobalView, Workday).
