Role Summary

Forklift Operators for Magna Autosytems of America -  Plymouth Location

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daily activities of material handling within the department and overall safety.
  • Maintaining inventory to facilitate FIFO usage.
  • Ensure all materials are stored in proper location. If location not available notify shipping/receiving supervisor.
  • Perform material/line changes as required to meet production schedule.
  • Inventory for supply parts ordering purposes.
  • Control and properly store all packaging material.
  • Ensure all product is properly labeled prior to moving it to the next operation.
  • Maintain all safety / emergency access routes.
  • Take ownership of the plant floor plan and ensure it is being followed.
  • Ensure housekeeping and safety standards are maintained.
  • Make suggestions for Continuous Improvement.
  • Implement and drive Autosystems TPS system.
  • Proficiency in coordinating changeover of material with technician to ensure material is properly prepared in a timely manner.
  • Any reasonable request by management.
  • Completion of pre-shift Forklift Operator daily checklist

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Completion of Secondary School preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Valid Forklift License required or willingness to be trained.
  • Understanding of plastic material an asset (difference between ABS, PC, and PMMA).
  • Ability to understand and operate the control panel for a material distribution system required.
  • Ability to perform routine PM and cleaning of drying and conveying equipment required.

Preference will be given to candidates with previous forklift driving experience
