General:

  • Lead in developing robust baselines for all new tools until the tooling has been approved and verified that it can produce parts at cycle and established targets for OEE. Maintain a tracking document for each tool on status of Launch readiness working closely with the tooling engineers.
  • Responsible for the daily activities of the technical aspects of the molding processes to ensure that a controlled process is being run and that overall safety practices are being followed.
  • Develop and train team on proper start-up, shutdown, Purging and troubleshooting procedures and ensure they are being followed.
  • Develop and Maintain an Action tracker containing actions for Shop issues as well as scrap and efficiency issues. Report out on tracker daily to management.
  • Support Continuous Improvement by suggesting longer term processing solutions that will reduce costs by way of improved scrap rates and Increase efficiency.
  • Ensure all processes are running to baseline and that any changes are properly evaluated and documented with the appropriate change forms.
  • Develop and or modify WI, Procedures and Forms for Molding process.
  • Work with the Operations group to understand focus areas for processing efforts.
  • Interact with the Quality Group, as necessary, to understand the acceptable level of part quality.
  • Take direction from Supervisor as it relates to production requirements and Priorities.
  • Step up and assist Production in any way possible when needed. (Start-ups, Mold changes as required.)
  • Improve the equipment and processes to meet or exceed current or future business capacity.
  • Preventative maintenance program to be monitored and updated as required.
  • Ensure housekeeping and safety standards are maintained
  • Actively pursue opportunities and reduce cost & cycle times as per AAI yearly targets
  • Implement and drive Mafact system.
  • Complete any additional tasks requested by management.

 

 

Qualification Requirements:

  • Thorough understanding of molding processes. Min 8 years’ experience as Process Tech.
  • Candidate must demonstrate a proven track record in performance and attendance in current position, (below 3 attendance points and below a written warning).
  • Aptitude for mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Ability to learn the fundamentals of process control and understand the importance of consistent application
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Strong knowledge of industrial processes and machinery
  • Ability to learn and comprehend computer language
  • Self-motivated, ability to take initiative and follow through to job completion
  • Ability to communicate technically with various departments
  • Ability to work flexible hours/shifts

 

 

Health & Safety Responsibilities:

  • Work in compliance with and support company policies, procedures, work instructions and programs relating to health/safety and environment
  • Provide support and resources in a timely manner to address health and safety or environmental concerns or hazards that require corrective action
  • Have clear goals communicated to for health/safety and environmental protection
  • Review accident/incident investigation reports to ensure that corrective actions have been completed
  • Conduct regular audits of work area(s) to ensure no safety hazards or environmental issues exist

 

 

Physical Demands:

Normal amount of sitting and standing; Ability to move around an office environment and on the production floor; Ability to work at a computer workstation; Ability to bend, twist, lift, reach.  Required to carry out job duties and responsibilities in a work environment that may include, but is not limited to, varying levels of noise and/or temperature. Ability to lift max. 50lbs periodically.

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Knowledge of Problem Solving methods (Red X,  Six Sigma,  8D, etc…) required

 

Language Skills: English

Mathematical Skills: Aptitude for working with numbers.

Reasoning Ability:

 

  • The ability to develop and maintain Program Status Reports and use reports as a Management Tool for monitoring against resolving issues to meet the requirements for manufacturing at the required expectations.
  •  A tenacious personality that will not let an issue be left unresolved.
  •  Transparency in communications with the understanding to escalate when appropriate for assistance in resolution.
  •  A continuous improvement mentality and the ability to apply this personal capability and knowledge to AAI processes, products, and associates (mentoring).
