About the Role

As a die setter, you will be responsible to set up and operate plastic injection molding machines to mold thermoplastic parts.  You will observe continuous operation of injection molding machines to ensure that parts meet specifications and to detect any machine malfunctions or product defects, making adjustments as necessary.  You will be responsible to position and secure molds in machines and make all required connections to operate the tool safely.  You will ensure all auxiliary equipment is set to the correct settings per the baselines.

Your Responsibilities

  • Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments and completing first-off – last off documents observing machine parameters and gauges to verify consistency of temperatures, pressures, and press-cycle times, etc.
  • Read specifications, blueprints, and work orders to determine setups, temperatures, and time settings required to mold plastic materials, as well as to plan production sequences.
  • Adjust equipment and work piece holding fixtures, to ensure proper functioning.
  • Operate hoists to position mold tools on storage racks, inside press or on floor.
  • Select and install end of arm tooling (EOAT) or other attachments for each operation.
  • Optimize process to reduce scrap and improve throughput and any other reasonable request by management.

Who we are looking for

Your preferred qualifications

  • Injection Mold Tool Setting Experience
  • Knowledge of plastic materials and process parameters for injection molding.
  • Certified Overhead Crane Operator
  • Experience with end of arm tooling (EOAT) set-up.
  • Experience with hand tools and torque wrenches
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
