Polycon Industries is looking for an Engineer who has a strong interest in electrical and mechanical systems and their applications in an automotive manufacturing environment. The candidate must have strong project management skills and experience to lead and deliver energy and other related projects to meet business objectives and needs.
Key Responsibilities
Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognized college or university
Licensed professional engineer in the Province of Ontario, or ability to obtain one
Minimum of 5-year experience in a manufacturing environment in North America
Minimum 2-year experience in Project Management
Minimum 2-year experience in Energy Management
CEM designation an asset
Familiar with industry standards, codes and regulations applicable to manufacturing environment in Ontario
Experience with electrical and mechanical systems such as but not limited to:
o air compressors and compressed air distribution systems,
o water- and air-cooled chillers, air handling equipment (fans, make up air units),
o natural gas burning equipment, heat exchangers (air to air, air to water, water to water),
o pumps and pumping systems, process, and potable water distribution systems,
o process water treatment systems (reverse osmosis, ion exchange demineralization systems, electro deionization),
o paint spray booth air handling systems operation and paint detackification processes and systems,
o bake oven systems and equipment, air emissions abatement RTO (regenerative thermal oxidizers),
o fire protection system (sprinklers, pre-action system, wet, dry),
o fire alarm systems and plant facilities air handling systems (air heaters, air moving equipment), HVAC
Key Qualifications/Requirements
Planning, coordination, and execution of assigned projects
Provide engineering and maintenance services/support
Generate RFQ and RFPs for facility and equipment changes
Create and oversee the implementation of short and long-term projects and strategies that increase energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and minimize unnecessary consumption
Implementation and Maintenance of an Energy tracking and monitoring system
Collect and analyze internal energy data, develop energy savings opportunities & action plan
Drive improvements by leading a cross-functional team(s) to reduce energy usage
Lead regular reviews of the Energy Team
Create utility capacity plan, review with management team to assess risks
Seek out provincial, federal, utility incentives for energy efficiency/renewable projects
Lead the application process for program initiatives to maximize opportunities
Assist the Maintenance team with emergency breakdowns and other problems
Assist with the development and design of electrical projects ensuring safety and compliance
Perform other duties as assigned
