Resumen de la función

The PD&T Regional Manager will provide oversight, direction and support for the People Development and Training strategy in Mexico including Learning & Development, Talent Attraction & Employer Branding and Performance Management. Will work across Divisions and Groups to align strategies, programs and policies to Magna’s business and strategic priorities and provide insight and recommendations to support continuous improvement that will ensure lasting business impact.

Responsabilidades clave

Learning & Development.

  • Oversee the Regional MTC Committee. 
  • Create and maintain a Regional Training Network utilizing strategic partnerships.
  • Coordinate and maintain a training catalogue according to existing and future training needs in partnership with the PD&T team.
  • Identify training partners and coordinate contracts utilizing Global enterprise licenses that align with Mexican laws and Magnas standards.
  • Identify Training Needs in the Region at all levels (Management & Supervision) for developing the specific programs.
  • Provide recommendations regarding training content and activity based on participant feedback and shifting needs/priorities within Mexico.
  • Analyze reports to monitor activities, successes, and challenges of the regional MTC and make recommendations for continuous improvement. 
  • Work with corporate functions to guide best training practices.  
  • Facilitate the translation of materials utilizing best practice and strategic partners.
  • Maintain and update training material and accreditation requirements.
  • Review billing related to divisional chargebacks and maintain yearly budgeting. 
  • Create and deliver presentations regarding MTC status relative to plan, recommendations for evolving offers that align with best practices etc. 
  • Provide support & to users of PeopleNET+; reinforcing the benefits of fully leveraging they system.

Talent Attraction/Employer Branding.

  • Act as the Talent Attraction and Employer Branding Corporate contact representing Magna in Mexico.
  • Execute the localized employer branding activities for Mexico in alignment with the global strategy. 
  • Working with Corporate social media specialist to ensure regional, consistent, differentiated “voice” across all Magna approved recruiting communities to engage with student /graduates.
  • Primary point of contact for all College/University job boards in Mexico.
  • Provides useful market intelligence regarding where to attract top talent and makes recommendations
  • Responsible for ensuring that our talent attraction efforts/campaigns meet the needs of Group HR, business growth strategies.
  • Engage with recruiting teams to understand regional hiring needs; challenges and successes to determine best approach to sourcing talent i.e. virtual career fairs; recruiter upskilling etc. 
  • Support PD&T with proof-reading and/or translating material/web page designs into Spanish.
  • Monitor the Universum Most Attractive Employer Surveys to measure Magna attractiveness among student STEM talent in Mexico and work towards improving our ranking.
  • Provide Applicant Tracking System (ATS) support to users of PeopleNET+; understand the workflows in the ATS and communicate the importance of data integrity and management of requisition/candidate data in the system.

Student/Event/Team Sponsorships.

  • Manage the Student Attraction Strategy for Mexico Student – including the roll out, communication, planning, key metrics and continuous improvement with Magna stakeholders.   
  • Manage the strategic Magna relationships with the Tier 1 schools in Mexico as outlined in the Global framework.
  • Support Magna sponsored employer branding events from planning to execution in Mexico.
  • Track the ROI on the Magna employer branding events and recruitment of the student in teams Magna sponsors.
  • Primary contact with Event coordinators and teams of the sponsored events, and work internally and with vendor to ensure successful execution.
  • Act as the Brand Ambassador at Magna sponsored events. 
Calificaciones/requerimientos clave

Knowledge and Education.

  • Knowledge of local training market an asset.
  • University degree or college diploma in Human Resources or related experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Experience and familiarity with social media channels.
  • Experience with TMIS & HRIS Systems – SuccessFactors and WorkDay an asset.

Work Experience.

  • Minimum 5 -7 years in a learning and development role.
  • Experience in employer branding, recruiting or talent acquisition experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in student engagement and/or campus recruitment is an asset.

Work Environment.

  • Willing to travel in Mexico and abroad.
