Role Summary

Responsible for managing and supporting the company’s procurement requirements and developing and/or assisting in developing regional supply base strategies and solutions to continuously improve cost levels, stable sources of supply, high quality of supply categories, and other governing factors. Supports supplier selection, development, and overall supplier management to deliver superior financial returns and competitive advantage to the business.  Assist in developing and Implementing company/regulatory policies and procedures with suppliers to improve quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and support.  Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1.- Responsible for developing and/or assisting in developing indirect regional strategies in alignment with indirect purchasing category strategies.

2.- Leads and coordinates all aspects of indirect purchasing and supplier development activities including, but not limited to supplier evaluation, requests for quotation, cost breakdown analysis, negotiations, supplier cost audits, contract management, and supplier selection to meet the strategies, policies, standards, and audit requirements of Magna International.

3.- Coordinates all supplier issues with applicable functional organizations.

4.- Develops cost and scenario analysis, cost breakdowns, and benchmarks, including evaluation of cost drivers to support negotiation strategies to reach the best cost and optimal terms, while at the same time assessing and mitigating risks.

5.- Manages and negotiates supply agreements in support of overall supply chain goals and objectives.

6.- Keeps abreast of indirect supply base development, market conditions, industry trends, and technologies in the region for the different indirect categories; research indirect categories and products in the region to support local requirements; able to identify potential risks, devise solutions and construct plans to mitigate any negative impacts.

7.- Establishes and manages key indirect supplier performance goals and objectives; communicates periodic results to plan and assist in the supplier development process to ensure success internally and externally; develops a keen awareness of industry performance benchmarks for indirect products and categories.

8.- Develop alignment and work with local purchasing teams to collaborate on regional strategies and processes.

9.- Provides formal and informal status on strategies and performance feedback to Team Members.

10.- Responsible for supplier recommendations for indirect categories and working with the divisional purchasing teams to implement these sourcing recommendations.

11.- Responsible for developing and managing cost reduction projects for indirect categories in the region.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

a.- Post-Secondary Degree in Business Administration/Engineering or similar – Required.

b.- Master’s degree in business or engineering – Desired.

c.- Business Finance Training – Desired.

d.- Minimum five (5) years of leadership experience in the automotive or related manufacturing industry.

e.- Minimum five (5) to ten (10) years of purchasing experience for a large multi-plant manufacturing enterprise.

f.- Knowledge and technical understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and supply chain management.

g.- Strong understanding of contract language.

h.- Strong negotiations, persuasive and effective decision-making skills.

i.- Experience procuring utilities, equipment, MRO, and other indirect categories.

j.- Demonstrates ability to work effectively with different teams in different environments.

k.- Fluent in English & Spanish.

l.- Indirect Supply base leverage and cost savings.

m.- Indirect Supply base development in alignment with indirect strategies.

n.- Unwavering resolve to set high ethical standards in all aspects of the business.

o.- Compliance with all aspects of business processes and controls.

p.- Outstanding results when working together with divisional purchasing and divisional teams.

4.- Prepares reports, cost analysis, charts, graphs, and other statistical information.

5.- Interprets and complies with Company policies, procedures, and regulations.

6.- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

7.- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

8.- Will be located in a Magna division.

9.- Able to travel.
