Il gruppo Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting è specializzato nelle tecnologie automotive che guidano il futuro della mobilità. Sintesi del ruolo

Coming from Design and Development Team, he knows the CAD tool, and through its design experience can design and develop products or mechanical components defining functional and technical characteristics meeting the specifications required by the customer on time. He is the technical reference of the project, supports all the technical areas. He has the responsibility to realize the product according to the technical specifications received by the work team, ensuring that modeling and design standards are applied respecting policy and procedures.

Responsabilità principali

Technical support for the preparation of the economical offer in the feasibility phase of the product RFQ (Request for Quotation).

Development of the project to develop the prototype phase for aesthetic / functional sample.

Review of the prototype phase and modification of the project for the construction of serial tooling.

Verification and identification of technical solutions to meet the technical specifications of the product (line up phase).

3D data development and realization of the technical documentation related to the product.

Technical support to MAGNA production plants and to the Customer.

Work with staff at remote locations and track progress against established Project timelines and milestones

Communicate and interact regularly with Customers, Engineering, Program Management, and Plants

Supervise Designers and Design Leaders and assigns work packages

Assignments may include programs with new customers, the introduction of new technology, developing drawings and sections for quoting

Work closely with Product Development, New Technology, and Program Management Teams to ensure customer expectations are met

Employ robust design methods to minimize prior failure modes, and when necessary provides technical leadership/direction to resolve issues

Develop and enforce Design Standards and component commonality

Develop Work instructions for Designers to ensure full understanding of job expectations

Organize and track Designer Training making sure all Designers are current in best practices, standards and CAD systems

Complete performance review documentation and conduct annual performance reviews for design staff

Understand timing and resource requirements for current and future projects and assign/re-assign Design teams accordingly

Consult with engineering personnel/management to provide recommendations for the improvement of existing products and processes

Align Design Strategies with New Technology and ongoing VA/VE initiatives

Support critical design reviews. Align product designs to Manufacturing capabilities and escalate if alignment to Customer expectations is not present

Ensure that Best Practices, Design Standards and Lessons Learned Databases are kept up to date and are used on every project in development

Attend Senior Management meetings as necessary to report out on project status and direction

Qualifiche/requisiti chiave

Proficient in Print Tolerancing and GD&T

Proficient in Design for Manufacturability (DFM)

Strong communication skills; written and verbal

Highly motivated, self-directed, creative, innovative individual

Team / Associate oriented skill set

Demonstrates focus on meeting program commitments and enforcement of work plans where timing is not achieved

Extremely detail oriented going above and beyond specific product design to include system interfaces
