Role Summary

The Cyber Security Manager EU is responsible to lead cyber security activities and manages a team of cybersecurity engineers to provide support to the program teams in delivering the work products of the security case and in compliance with ISO 21434, UNECE WP.29 CS, and the Magna Cybersecurity Development Process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA) in collaboration with other functional engineers, and lead the team for TARA updates
  • Leads Security Concept development
  • Leads Security Requirement reviews, support security requirement development, and work closely with functional engineers to ensure the execution of these requirements
  • Guides software engineers in vulnerability analysis (static code analysis, known vulnerability analysis) and support tracking cyber security implementation issues based on the vulnerability analysis
  • Supports verification engineers in security verification test and its vulnerability management
  • Leads fuzz testing activities and its vulnerability management
  • Leads penetration testing activities and its vulnerability management
  • Coaches new cyber security engineers for all activities listed above
  • Leads the product cybersecurity engineering team for the local site/region
  • Provides guidance and support to the program team in the development of their work products per the security case in compliance with ISO 21434, UNECE WP.29 CS, and the Magna Cybersecurity Development Process
  • Leads project quote response activities for customers of the local site/region
  • Develops the security architecture for product lines and projects
  • Performs complex work assignments requiring independent problem solving and decision making, requiring strong cyber security technical competency
  • Leads the planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting of all cyber security related activities for various projects
  • Performs other duties as necessary for completion of projects and achievement of departmental goals


Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required. Master’s degree preferred
  • Management/Leadership training is required
  • Functional Safety Certification is required
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in the appropriate discipline and in team management/coaching is required
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in Cyber Security is required
  • 5 years of relevant experience in the Automotive industry is desired
  • Comprehensive knowledge of product development and engineering practices in the automotive field
  • Comprehensive working knowledge in structured engineering approach
  • Comprehensive working knowledge in Automotive Functional Safety
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of structured problem solving (8D)
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of structured risk management
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of configuration management, project planning, monitoring and control techniques
  • Comprehensive knowledge of automotive product development processes
  • Ability to define and develop new processes or continuously improve existing processes
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office package (especially Excel)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of analysis, engineering and product lifecycle management tools
  • Comprehensive knowledge of English (verbal and written)
  • Advanced knowledge (verbal &written) of local language required
