Role Summary

System Architect – DMS is responsible for the architectural design of driver monitoring product. He communicates technical solutions to project teams and suppliers and he drives progress based on feedbacks from other disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer specifications and translate them into DMS core architecture
  • Create and maintains the System Architecture of a core DMS
  • Perform analyses of the system architecture relevant topics and proposes solution alternatives in consideration of technical feasibility, cost efficiency and integrity of the system
  • Decide specific technical solutions based on the analyses of alternatives
  • Develop in collaboration with chip suppliers a product roadmap for needed variants of the core DMS considering production dates and costs
  • Work out a concept for a core DMS ASIC solution and creates the needed concept and requirements together with a supplier
  • Lead technically the DMS ASIC development activities with the suppliers and reports the progress to project team
  • Performs supplier assessment regarding DMS perception algorithms, works out related KPIs and proposes alternative suppliers
  • Support the business line development team with your technical expertise regarding customer quotes
  • Communicate the design specification to development team and drive the product realization based on feedbacks from implementation and testing
  • Supports technically the definition of the validation and verification concepts
  • Supports consolidating system and functions performance test acceptance criteria
  • Organizes reviews of the system architecture work products
  • Follow the Magna Electronics Global Product Engineering Process (ME-GPEP) and Magna Electronics Product Development Process (ME-PDP)

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, or equivalent technical field
  • Minimum 5-year experience in automotive camera development, ideally in-cabin cameras
  • Willing to learn and work with new technologies
  • Advanced knowledge of automotive camera products: Front, rearview, in cabin cameras 
  • Advanced knowledge of automotive technologies such as CAN, FlexRay, Automotive-Ethernet, AUTOSAR, etc.
  • Automotive SPICE or CMMI
  • Functional Safety (ISO 26262)
  • Cyber Security
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office package (especially Excel)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of PTC Integrity, Enterprise Architect, DOORS, Rhapsody, MATLAB-Simulink and signal processing toolbox
  • Basic knowledge of SAP
  • Comprehensive knowledge of English (speak & write)
  • For positions in non-English speaking countries: Advanced knowledge (verbal & written) of local language required
