Role Summary
The Technical specialist customer quote Architect is the technical lead to design Magna’s ADAS and AD solutions for the future and for our customers, the role sits within the systems engineering organization and leads all RFI and RFQ technical alignments with our current and potential customers on new technologies Magna can offer, including designing such technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Review Customer specifications and needs on various ADAS product lines
- Align with customer on expected solutions and target price
- Align with Product Line Management and Core Engineering on technical concepts and reuse potential
- Define technical scope and boundaries of customer quotation
- Create technical solutions and system architecture to satisfy customer needs and align with all engineering disciplines (SW, Functions, Safety, Security, Mechanical, Electrical, testing)
- Present technical solutions to internal management as well as to customer
- Ensure technical solutions are technically advanced, cost efficient and align with customer needs to ensure Magna’s market position remain superior to competitors
- Support Engineering teams to evaluate and estimate solutions and effort
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering / software engineering / electrical engineering / computer science or equivalent (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum 5-year experience in the ADAS and AD automotive domain with experience in key ADAS technologies in Camera, radar, lidar and ultrasonic systems including software
- Multiple years relevant experience regarding the responsibility / activities (listed above) for automotive electronics serial development projects (mandatory)
- Experience with systems engineering, system architecture development as well as with Functional Safety and Cyber Security
- Knowledge of MS office package
- Knowledge of analysis and engineering tools such as version control/configuration management, UML tools, static code check tools
- Experience with ALM tools (PTC Integrity), Requirements management tools and task management tools necessary.
- Experience with internal (inside ECU) communication protocols as well as external communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet,,,etc.)
- Experience with multiple SoCs and Microprocessors
- Comprehensive knowledge of PTC Integrity, Enterprise Architect, DOORS, Rhapsody, MATLAB-Simulink and signal processing toolbox (or similar)
- Experience with ADAS simulation tools such as carmaker
- Comprehensive knowledge of English (verbal and written)
