Role Summary

This position serves as the point of contact between the division and corporate regarding Industry of the Future initiatives.  This will require planning, resource, and task management skills in directing the team to the successful implementation of projects.  Expectations to produce and follow benchmarking practices within the corporation abound.  Help bring various division teams together in implementation of sustainable and scalable smart factory operations in industry-leading network technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Industry 4.0 solutions implementation for MEVS driving standardization in line with the corporate platform.
  • Participate in meetings to bring together shop floor and manufacturing with IT during implementation.
  • Creating long-term and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines for projects in Industry 4.0 manufacturing transformations.
  • Responsible for analyzing the scope of work and assisting in the development of manpower plan requirements to complete projects within time constraints defined in the project timeline.
  • Making effective decisions and recommendations to leadership when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project.
  • Serving as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy.
  • Works with the IT Manager to create project timelines for design tasks from critical project milestones.
  • Responsible for leading cross-functional teams. 
  • Drive 4.0 collaboration within Magna to leverage value from a networked organization.
  • Stay connected with the industry to ensure that the best in class industry technology is reflected in platform and product strategic roadmaps.

Key Qualifications/Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or three years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Industry 4.0 integration.
  • Proven leader.


  • Must have a positive attitude and be able to motivate others.
  • Must have a great set of analytical skills that allow to solve problems in an efficient way. 
  • Can delegate and manage multiple projects at any given time.
  • Must have good organizational skills to attend to multiple tasks simultaneously.  
  • Must exhibit high integrity and honesty.
  • Ability to prepare, read, write and interpret reports, instructions and procedures.
  • Able to clearly and effectively respond to questions from management and customers.
  • Working knowledge of IT and OT platforms (MES, cloud technologies).
  • Must have computer skills (including M.S. Project, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to effectively and appropriately present information and respond to questions for various groups. 
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset. Possess curiosity and sees failure as a learning opportunity.


  • Involves some physical activity, which generally requires occasionally lifting 50 lbs. 


  • General office environment with occasional exposure to general factory environment.
  • Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Able to work flexible hours to be available to multiple shifts.


  • Some of the equipment and tools used are computers, notebooks, printers, scanners, copiers, communication devices, IP phone systems, Barcode equipment, routers, switches and cables


  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or three years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing environment.


  • A valid Driver’s License is required for day travel with the occasional overnight stay.  
  • A valid passport which allows the IT Manager to travel to attend meetings/seminars is necessary.
