Maintenance- PM Technician- OFF SHIFT

Role Summary

Under the direction of the maintenance manager, the preventive maintenance technician is responsible for making sure that the machines and equipment are in working condition and identify any mechanical fault that may lead to break down of machines. This may include troubleshooting, new equipment installation, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, electronic components, robotics, and the mechanical/hydraulic/maintenance of equipment and machinery. 
 

Key Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY:  

  • Responsible to ensure that safe and healthy work conditions are maintained.
  • Responsible to attend the monthly safety training and train all their associates each month on the related topic.
  • Follow 5S as assigned in the area for Maintenance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

  • Provide plant support in troubleshooting / repairs and systems improvement (optimization).
  • Plant support in testing/ repairing/ calibrating electric or electronic components.
  • Analyze, record and chart documentation required for maintenance records and projects.
  • Help set up preventative maintenance procedures on mechanical equipment for the Assembly Dept. as laid out by the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Organize all material needed so it readily available to have on hand and have assigned to job depending.
  • Attend QID 2 hour meetings on the shop floor.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques, monitoring compliance.
  • May be required to rotate shifts  
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Works together with PM Planner on implementation of SAP PM system.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.  
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customer, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
     

Additional Information

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Some of the physical demands of this position include sitting for prolonged periods of time, walking up and down staircases, occasional lifting, and occasional stooping and bending. Must be able to lift 100 lbs. 

EQUIPMENT / TOOLS USED:

  • Some of the equipment and tools used are computer, telephone, fax machine, copier/printer, and a projector. 

EDUCATION:  

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year experience and/or training; or Technical Apprenticeship with Certification or Journeyman Card; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 10 years of automated manufacturing technical experience required.
  • Intermediate = 1-3 years of experience/some training required. (preferred)

AREAS OF TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • New Hire Training, Employee Charter Training, Safety Training 

TEAM MEMBER’S JOB PROGRESS BE MONITORED FOR COMPETENCY BY:

  • Performance Assessment conducted by Supervisor and/or Department Manager.
