Job Introduction

Magna is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Engineer to join the Corporate R&D group. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, agile R&D engineering development environment where they will be able to exercise freedom to innovate and explore new methods and solutions. You will be responsible for leading the development of concepts, prototyping, validation and launching them into production. Major Responsibilities

  • Support the ideation process while identifying gaps in the current product or manufacturing technology to guide and provide future R&D efforts.
  • Evaluate technologies and product designs with compliance to scientific principles, engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements, and related specifications
  • Provide engineering support to other departments within the company as directed by the department leader.
  • Prepare and present project progress reports.
  • Demonstrate sustained innovation and creativity leading to significant project accomplishments without direct technical supervision

Knowledge and Education

  • Degree in an Engineering or related field
  • Comprehensive understanding about automotive technology in general and chassis systems in specific
  • Good understanding of basic engineering principles including SW/function development, simulation, etc.

Work Experience

  • 5+ years of recent, in-depth, hands-on experience in a relevant field in the automotive industry

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong spoken and written English language skills, additional languages skills desired
  • Ability to work in global team-based environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office incl. high level skills on PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent professional communication skills (written and verbal) and good presence
  • Demonstrated technical ability and creativity to initiate, direct, and control specific projects.

Work Environment

  • Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer. Local and/or international travel may be required.

Additional Information

The annual remuneration package for this position is a minimum of EUR 56,000 - with corresponding qualification. We offer attractive benefits (e.g., employee profit participation program) and a salary which is in line with market conditions depending on your skills and experience.
